Balsam is seeking a Staff Accountant who is responsible for handling and maintaining all aspects of the account receivables, the accounting duties to maintain programming and assists in other areas of accounting as needed. This position is being offered as a remote position, but must be willing to commit to a regular working schedule and full-time hours. The Staff Accountant is accountable to the Director of Finance for their performance.
What you’ll be doing
- Reporting to Director of Finance on monthly and quarterly financial and reporting requirements.
- Maintaining financial books and records for companies and trust accounts using QBO software including:
- Monthly reconciliation of bank, credit cards and trust accounts
- Oversight of Accounts Payable
- Oversight of Accounts Receivable and monthly billing
- Posting payroll expenses and liabilities bi-weekly from ADP software
- Additional posting and reconciliation tasks as needed
- Assistance in the annual financial audit
We’d love to work with you if you have:
Education and Experience Required:
- Professional Certificate or Diploma in accounting or relevant work experience is required.
- Experience working with detailed spreadsheets, analysis, and reconciliation
- Willingness to comply with all company policies and financial regulations including payroll administration rules when required
- Experience with QBO; QBO certification would be considered an asset
- Experience with payroll systems considered an asset
- Exceptional communication in English is required, speaking, writing and comprehension
- Able to work overtime during budgeting, audits etc.
