FedEx Group in Canada seeks an experienced maintenance technician for Federal Express vehicle fleet and ground support equipment. You will perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, repairs and document work performed, ensuring safety and compliance.

This is an interview position with potential for permanent placement based on performance. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, relevant automotive certifications, a valid G license, and strong troubleshooting skills.

  • Seven years fleet experience and basic welding knowledge are preferred.
  • Must be able to lift 70 lbs and maneuver up to 150 lbs with assistive devices.

Responsibilities

  • Repairs, modifies and performs preventative maintenance inspections on fleet and ground support equipment.
  • Troubleshoots issues in shop and outdoor environments with electronic diagnostic tools.
  • M aintains documentation of service and compliance with safety procedures.

GENERAL SUMMARY

Provides timely, quality, cost effective maintenance for Federal Express vehicle fleet and ground support equipment which requires preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, modifications and documentation.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

High School Diploma or GED Equivalent

Automotive Service Technician or Truck and Coach Technician accreditations/certifications/licenses preferred

Valid Provincial Driver’s License

Seven (7) years fleet experience

Microsoft Word - Basic

Basic electronic troubleshooting skills

Must have working knowledge of use and operation of all automotive diagnostic testing equipment, gauges and tools associated with trouble shooting and repairs of gasoline, diesel and hydraulic powered equipment

Must have basic knowledge of welding and Safety procedures

Must have the ability to lift 70 lbs & manoeuvre any package weighing up to 150 lbs with appropriate equipment

Must own a complete set of automotive or truck hand tools including metric sizes and storage cabinets for same

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Repairs, modifies and performs preventative maintenance inspections; troubleshoots for field vehicle fleet and ground support equipment service of G.S.E. and heavy equipment in shop and outdoor environments

High School Diploma or GED Equivalent

Automotive Service Technician or Truck and Coach Technician certification/license

Must possess a valid G license and have a good driving record

Three (3) years of fleet experience

Fleet maintenance experience an asset

Electronic troubleshooting skills

Must have working knowledge of use and operation of all automotive diagnostic testing equipment, gauges and tools associated with trouble shooting and repairs of gasoline, diesel and hydraulic powered equipment

Must have basic knowledge of welding and safety procedures

Must be able to lift and maneuver heavy vehicle components up to 70 Ibs

Must be able to lift and maneuver heavy vehicle components above 70 Ibs with the help of appropriate lifting mechanical assistance

For Ramp positions, successful placement in the position is contingent on the applicant passing the Transport Canada, RCMP, and CSIS assessment, which is based on five (5) years verifiable background information. Must own a complete set of automotive or truck hand tools including metric sizes and storage cabinets for same
