Job summary

Definity Financial Corporation invites an experienced Underwriter, Regional Property, to join our team in Canada. You'll evaluate and underwrite commercial property risks, build broker relationships, and support profitable growth with strong customer service across the region.

You'll underwrite new submissions, review renewals and endorsements, negotiate terms with brokers, and provide technical guidance to colleagues.

Qualifications

• 4-7 years of Commercial Lines underwriting experience.
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills with the ability to evaluate complex risks.
• Excellent relationship-building, negotiation, and customer service skills.
• Bilingual Professional communication skills in both French and English, written and verbal.
• A university degree, college diploma, or CIP designation.
• Strong computer skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• A collaborative mindset, adaptability, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite new business submissions and make risk acceptance decisions.
• Review, negotiate, and process renewals and policy endorsements.
• Work closely with brokers to negotiate terms, conditions, and pricing.
• Build and maintain strong broker relationships.
• Participate in brokerage visits and production meetings as needed.

The Opportunity

Salary Range:

$59,300- $109,200

High degree ofproficiencywith Englishrequiredto service customers, both internal to the company and external, across Canada.

Actual salary for the role may vary depending on work location of the successful candidate and other factors including but not limited to, skills, education, experience, working conditions and the local labour market.
