We are seeking a Traffic Operations & Safety Engineer to join our Transportation sector, working on a variety of projects.

Your role at EXP

You will lead and assist in analysis and design efforts, including:

1. Road safety reviews and audits, utilizing HSM methodology, identifying countermeasures, network screening, data analysis, considering human factors, and conducting operational reviews.
2. Design of traffic operations devices and facilities such as pavement markings, signs, traffic management plans, and innovative technologies.
3. Policy development for road authorities and preparing technical reports, presentations, and client communications.
4. Supporting project management and business development activities, including project proposals, task delivery, budget management, supervising junior staff, and contributing to team culture.

Required experience

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with 10+ years of experience in Traffic/Transportation.
• P. Eng. designation with PEO is required.
• Proficiency in transportation modeling software, GIS, AutoCAD, Synchro, VISSIM, AIMSUM, AutoTURN, and MS Office.
• Experience with legislation and technical standards such as ITE Trip Generation Manual, TAC Geometric Design Guide, Ontario Traffic Manual, and Highway Traffic Act.
• Ability to assess transportation demand management and active transportation facilities.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and time management skills.
