Job description

At SecondShop, we’re a team of Canadians who believe in doing better—for our country, your wallets, and our planet. We started with a simple idea: why should perfectly good products go to waste or sit unsold when people like you are out there looking for smart ways to save? We have made it our mission to source the highest quality open-box, overstocked, and scratch-and-dent products from the top brands - offering them to Canadians at up to 50% off. But we are not just about savings—we’re about changing how people shop. Say goodbye to paying full price and hello to smarter spending.

We are looking for a Senior Technical Product Manager to lead the strategy, roadmap and delivery of core B2B transportation-platform product.

This is a highly technical, backend-oriented product role. You will own products and capabilities that sit behind internal and customer-facing experiences: operational workflows, APIs, third-party integrations, data models, business rules and platform services. You will work closely with Engineering and Operations, as well as Finance and commercial teams to turn complex transportation requirements into scalable, reliable products.

The ideal candidate has deep experience building B2B software in logistics, transportation, freight, supply chain or another operationally complex industry. You will be comfortable discussing APIs, integrations, system architecture, data flows and trade-offs with engineering teams, while maintaining a practical focus on customer value and operational outcomes.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Own the product vision, strategy and roadmap for key B2B transportation and logistics platform capabilities.
  • Lead discovery and delivery for backend products and services supporting functions such as shipment lifecycle management, pricing and quoting, dispatch, carrier management, tracking and visibility, document management, invoicing and reporting.
  • Partner closely with Engineering to define scalable technical solutions, including APIs, integrations, data models, event flows, system dependencies and non-functional requirements.
  • Translate complex business and operational needs into clear product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria and prioritised engineering work.
  • Work with transportation operations teams to understand current workflows, identify friction points and build products that improve service, efficiency, accuracy and scalability.
  • Own product integrations with customers, carriers, TMS, ERP, telematics, mapping, payment, EDI and other third-party systems as applicable.
  • Establish and monitor product KPIs, including adoption, operational efficiency, data quality, integration reliability, shipment visibility, exception rates and customer outcomes.
  • Balance near‑term operational priorities with long‑term platform investment and technical debt reduction.
  • Lead cross‑functional product delivery from discovery through launch, measurement and iteration.
  • Clearly communicate priorities, trade‑offs, progress, risks and product performance to senior stakeholders.
  • Help strengthen product‑management standards, including roadmap planning, discovery practices, release readiness and post‑launch evaluation.

Who We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of product management experience, including substantial experience owning technical, B2B or platform products.
  • Experience in transportation, logistics, freight, supply chain, warehouse technology, mobility or similarly complex operational software is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience working with backend systems, APIs, integrations, data pipelines and complex business rules.
  • Strong technical fluency; able to work credibly with engineers on architecture, dependencies, data models and implementation trade‑offs. A technical degree or earlier engineering experience is an asset, but not required.
  • Experience building products used by enterprise customers, operational teams or external partners.
  • Proven ability to take products from ambiguous problem definition through launch and continuous improvement.
  • Strong analytical and commercial judgement, with the ability to use qualitative feedback and quantitative data to make prioritisation decisions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to align technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast‑moving environment where you will need to bring structure to complex problems.
  • A practical, collaborative approach and a strong sense of ownership.

What We Offer

  • Competitive base salary and a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental and vision coverage.
  • Flexible remote‑work arrangements, with occasional travel for team meetings, operational site visits or customer engagement.
  • The opportunity to shape foundational B2B technology in agrowing transportation and logistics business.
  • High ownership and direct exposure to senior leadership, engineering and operational teams.
  • A collaborative environment where product decisions have visible, real‑world impact on customers and the movement of freight.
