We are seeking a Senior Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) Processor Analyst at our Richmond, BC office to contribute to next-generation Earth observation missions. Our near-real-time data supports ecological monitoring, ice floe tracking, and shipping route analysis, making us a leader in geospatial imagery and ground station technology.

This role is ideal for an ambitious professional eager to solve complex problems and develop innovative algorithms that improve our world. You will enhance our SAR processing capabilities by developing high-value imagery and real-time actionable intelligence solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Develop advanced signal processing algorithms to enhance SAR performance (resolution, swath width, MTI, etc.).
  • Design, develop, and refine SAR processor models and prototypes following best practices.
  • Participate in trade-off studies to ensure algorithm implementation feasibility on hardware.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot signal processing errors and artifacts.
  • Perform system-level analyses and develop performance prediction models.
  • Improve image quality and develop calibration plans for SAR missions.
  • Coordinate processing requirements with stakeholders.
  • Document complex algorithms and technical performance in clear reports.
  • Mentor and coach junior team members.
Required Experience
  • BSc or higher in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Math, or related fields.
  • At least 8 years of experience in engineering or technical environments, or 4 years with a relevant postgraduate degree.
  • Minimum 6 years working on complex signal processing systems (Radar, Medical Imaging, Sonar, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of high-speed data analysis and transmission principles.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, or C++.
  • Self-motivated with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills for diverse audiences.
  • Ability to work within a large organization, understanding dependencies and stakeholder needs.
Desired Experience
  • Postgraduate degree in a field involving complex signal processing.
  • Knowledge of SAR remote sensing, system design, and calibration.
  • Understanding of satellite SAR payload design and operations.
  • Experience with software development methodologies.
  • Experience in engineering life cycles and FPGA algorithm implementation.
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies and domain knowledge.
  • Strong understanding of geospatial data.

We value diversity, collaboration, and innovation. The position offers a salary range of $98,000 - $144,100 annually, based on qualifications and experience. Successful candidates must obtain security clearance at the RELIABILITY level and pass security assessments for the Controlled Goods Program.
