Job Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and innovative Software Product Assurance Engineer with aerospace/space industry experience. If you are passionate about space exploration and have experience designing, building, verifying, and auditing software systems for harsh space environments, this is a unique opportunity to join a growing company with a rich heritage in the industry. You will work on developing instrumentation for lunar and Mars missions, technology demonstrators, and more.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical direction and oversight to ensure software quality and compliance with standards
• Review system designs, verify software architecture, requirements, and coding
• Oversee safety-critical, real-time software design, development, and testing
• Monitor program adherence to standards
• Identify issues and collaborate with teams to resolve them
• Chair reviews of software non-conformances and implement corrective actions
• Perform software reuse and safety analyses
• Liaise with customers and subcontractors on assurance activities and audits
• Ensure software reliability, fault tolerance, and maintainability
• Participate in milestone and safety reviews, audits, and surveys
• Suggest process improvements for quality, productivity, and cost efficiency

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
• Minimum 10 years of software development experience, including coding
• Experience in software product or quality assurance
• Knowledge of Agile development, continuous integration, and build automation
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Proficiency in C/C++
• Experience with verification and validation of requirements
• Ability to obtain a Federal Government Security Clearance

• V&V (verification and validation) expertise

Additional Information

Successful candidates must obtain security clearance at the reliability level, pass security assessments for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP), and ITAR compliance.

MDA Space offers competitive compensation, benefits, and a commitment to diversity and inclusion. The salary range is $99,000 - $145,200 annually, based on experience.
