Job summary

eBay is seeking a senior iOS Engineer in Toronto to architect and build features for the native iOS app used by millions of buyers and sellers worldwide. You will translate product ideas into robust production-grade code using Swift and Objective-C, collaborating with Product and Engineering to shape mobile delivery and testing practices.

Applicants should have 5+ years of iOS experience, strong unit/UI testing, and familiarity with MVVM or VIPER.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience developing iOS applications with Swift and Objective-C.
• Deep experience with unit testing and UI testing (XCTest/XCUITest).
• Strong understanding of SOLID principles and modern design patterns (MVVM, VIPER, RIBS).
• Experience with Xcode and various debugging tools (Charles, etc.).

Our iOS app, with millions of daily active users, facilitates billions in commerce transactions, and is the entry point for an increasing number of new customers. Roles/Responsibilities

• Architect the development of Selling features in the iOS application
• Native iOS app development and converting ideas, designs and requirements to concrete stable production builds
• Coordinate and collaborate with the Product and Engineering team to identify problems, come up with creative solutions, and help with tracking and delivering within the release plan
• Understand and implement iOS specific design patterns
• Experience with iOS XCode, Obj-C, Swift, SwiftUI, network debugging (e.g. Charles), revision control systems (e.g. Git) and bug tracking (e.g. Jira)
• Develop and iterate within a rather lean, yet very fast-paced Engineering team
• Develop code and testing methodologies to advance the four essential factors used to evaluate DevOps progress

Job Requirements

• 5+ years of experience developing iOS applications, with deep experience in both Swift and Objective-C
• Deep experience in unit testing and functional UI testing with XCTest / XCUITest
• Well versed in SOLID principles
• Experience with Xcode
• Experience with modern design patterns such as MVVM, VIPER, RIBS, etc.
• Strong understanding and hands‑on use of AI‑powered developer tools to accelerate iOS app design, development, and testing.
• Ability to collaborate and drive best practices with engineers from numerous teams
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies
• Experience working with services teams to design optimal mobile services contracts

Additional Details

The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:

C$118,000 - C$157,500

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including RRSP eligibility, various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
