Job summary

Goldin, an eBay company, is hiring a Staff Full Stack Engineer to design, build, and scale consumer-facing experiences for a global marketplace. You will own features end-to-end, from architecture through deployment and monitoring, across web and mobile interfaces.

The role requires at least 10+ years of software engineering with Python and JavaScript, strong AWS experience (Lambda, Cognito, EKS, OpenSearch, Kinesis, S3, SNS, SQS), and modern front-end skills with React.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS with 10+ years of experience, or Master’s with 8+ years.
• 10+ years software engineering, with strong Python and JavaScript.
• 5+ years AWS experience: Lambda, Cognito, EKS, OpenSearch, Kinesis, S3, SNS, SQS.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration.
• Recent experience building consumer-facing apps using React.
• Strong serverless, event-driven architectures, and API design (REST/GraphQL).
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (MSSQL, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB).
• Hands-on with web services design and consumption, messaging/streaming (Kinesis, SQS, SES).
• Strong testing, performance, and security practices; Agile/Scrum familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and evolve scalable cloud-native architectures on AWS.
• Own features end-to-end from design to deployment and monitoring.
• Contribute to API design for web and mobile experiences.
• Review code and provide constructive feedback for quality.

In this role, you’ll work across the stack, collaborating with high-velocity teams to design, build, and scale consumer-facing experiences that power a global marketplace.

What You Will Accomplish

• Design, build, and evolve scalable, cloud-native software architectures on AWS
• Own features end-to-end, from design and architecture through implementation, testing, deployment, and monitoring
• Contribute to API design that supports seamless web and mobile user experiences
• Review code and provide thoughtful feedback to ensure high-quality, maintainable, and consistent implementations
• Analyze existing applications and data stores to identify performance, reliability, and scalability improvements
• Collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and designers to deliver impactful solutions

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field with 10+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 8+ years of relevant experience
• 10+ years of software engineering experience, with strong expertise in Python and Javascript, and deep familiarity with their ecosystems and frameworks
• 5+ years of hands‑on AWS experience, including services such as Lambda, Cognito, EKS, OpenSearch, Kinesis, S3, SNS, and SQS
• Experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Recent experience building consumer-facing applications using React
• Strong background in serverless computing and event-driven architectures
• Experience working with relational and NoSQL databases, including MSSQL, PostgreSQL, and DynamoDB
• Hands‑on experience designing and consuming web services (REST, GraphQL)
• Familiarity with messaging and streaming platforms such as Kinesis, SQS and SES
• Solid understanding of building modular, extensible, and secure APIs
• Exposure to test automation and quality practices (e.g., contract testing, performance testing)
• Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills
• Working knowledge of Agile/Scrum development methodologies
• Experience addressing accessibility issues is a plus
