Title: Lead SCADA Engineer

Location: Calgary, AB (Minimal site visits throughout AB)

Job Description:

The Lead SCADA Engineer is responsible for designing high-voltage substation projects in a fast-paced environment. They ensure the accuracy, quality, and constructability of designs, calculations, and estimates for utility projects of all sizes. Effective collaboration and communication with internal and external stakeholders are essential for progressing designs through all project stages. The Lead SCADA Engineer contributes to bid proposals, estimates, and material calculations, ensuring the accuracy of quoted work. They are responsible for delivering high-quality design packages to clients or project teams on schedule and resolving design-related issues and field questions during project execution. The Lead SCADA Engineer works closely with the Project Management team to ensure projects are profitable and delivered on time.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a Technical Diploma in Engineering Technology.
  • Registration as a P.Eng or P.Eng with APEGA.
  • 8+ years of utility-specific substation design experience.
  • Experience with EPC projects is an asset.
  • Familiarity with protection and control, maintenance, and operational practices is an asset.
