Job description

As an Intermediate to Senior Delta V Controls Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the design, implementation, and commissioning of Emerson Delta V Distributed Control Systems (DCS) for various industrial automation projects. This role requires a deep understanding of Delta V system architecture, configuration, and batch processing, as well as leadership capabilities to mentor junior engineers and collaborate with project stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead the design and configuration of Delta V DCS, including graphics, alarms, historian, and communication protocols such as Modbus and OPC.
  2. Provide leadership in system architecture design, including integration with third-party systems and ensuring scalability for future requirements.
  3. Oversee the commissioning of Delta V systems, from Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) through to Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) and system handover.
  4. Collaborate with project teams, including clients, project managers, and multidisciplinary engineering teams, to ensure successful project outcomes.
  5. Troubleshoot and optimize existing Delta V control systems, performing loop tuning, fault diagnosis, and upgrades as needed.
  6. Mentor and support junior engineers, providing guidance and technical training in Delta V system design and implementation.
  7. Engage with clients to understand their needs, deliver technical presentations, and provide expert advice on Delta V system enhancements and upgrades.
Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field.
  2. 5+ years of experience working with Delta V DCS, including system design, configuration, and commissioning.
  3. Demonstrated expertise in Delta V Batch and S88 batch process control standards.
  4. Strong understanding of process control systems, including P&ID interpretation, control loop tuning, and alarm management.
  5. Experience leading automation projects in sectors such as pharmaceuticals, oil & gas, chemicals, or related industries.
  6. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage with clients, write detailed reports, and present technical solutions clearly.
  7. Experience with PLC programming and integration with Delta V systems is an asset.
  8. Knowledge of industrial cybersecurity best practices is an advantage.
