Job summary

Definity is seeking an experienced Auto Claims professional in Canada to manage complex and commercial auto claims with a strong focus on customer service. You will interpret policy wordings, investigate claims, and collaborate with brokers and vendors to resolve files efficiently.

The role requires AMF licensure and bilingual English/French capabilities, with a university or college credential and 3+ years of auto damage claim experience in tort and DCPD regions.

Qualifications

  • AMF license is required to provide insurance services in Quebec.
  • Bilingual in English and French with strong verbal and written communication.
  • University degree or college diploma or CIP designation or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience handling automobile physical damage claims.
  • Advanced knowledge of claims processes in tort and DCPD provinces.

Responsibilities

  • Provide prompt, courteous, accurate and fair claims service to customers.
  • Manage complex and/or commercial auto claims.
  • Explain the claim process clearly to customers.

The Opportunity

Join our growing Auto Claims team and manage complex and commercial auto claims while delivering exceptional customer service. This role offers the opportunity to apply your claims expertise, collaborate with key stakeholders, and make a meaningful impact through effective claim resolution.

What To Expect
  • Provide prompt, courteous, accurate and fair claims service to all customers, internal and external
  • Manage complex and/or commercial auto claims
  • Fully explain the claim process to all customers in a way they’ll easily understand
  • Interpret and apply policy wordings to determine appropriate coverage under a customer’s policy
  • Ensure all claims are promptly and fully investigated, collaborating with fraud investigators when necessary
  • Work with the customer, broker, and preferred vendors to determine the best way to resolve the claim
  • Maintain detailed file records by entering pertinent data into the appropriate systems
  • Process claims payments within your authority level
  • Initiate salvage and subrogation procedures on assigned claims
  • Achieve the targeted number of assigned claims per year, while living our core values and meeting competencies
  • Achieve and maintain a file disposition rate of 100% on a monthly basis
What You Bring
  • Whether you’re dealing with customers or co-workers, you’re always professional, friendly and courteous.
  • AMF License Requirement: Candidates must hold a valid AMF (Autorité des marchés financiers) license and be authorized to provide insurance services in Quebec.
  • Bilingualism Requirement: Candidates must be fully bilingual in both English and French, with strong verbal and written communication skills in both languages.
  • Preferably, you have a University degree in any discipline or a college diploma or the CIP designation
  • Minimum of 3 years experience handling automobile physical damage claims of moderately complex to complex in nature
  • Advanced knowledge of claims processes and procedures, including experience in both tort and DCPD provinces
  • You excel under and are comfortable with change
  • A demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a high volume, fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills-detail-oriented and highly organized
  • A high proficiency with Windows based programs with excellent keyboarding skills
  • You are team oriented - you value collegiality and accomplishing goals together
  • You’re an excellent communicator (written and verbal) and an even better listener
Salary Range

$51,300 - $94,400

High degree of proficiency with English required to service customers, both internal to the company and external, across Canada.
