What you'll be doing

As a member of CIBC’s team, the Senior Project Manager, IT is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of complex projects, ensuring adherence to project control procedures and policies. The role involves minimal supervision, applying deep expertise to manage project delivery, reporting, planning, and support activities. You will lead the development of analytical approaches, maintain relationships with clients, senior management, and project teams, and provide status updates to manage expectations regarding scope and timelines.

How you'll succeed

• Project Management – Define project goals, scope, resources, and costs. Develop resource plans, assess practices, and suggest improvements. Facilitate collaboration and negotiate deliverables.
• Project Coordination – Identify and mitigate risks, monitor milestones, and balance project constraints. Communicate effectively and influence stakeholders.
• Relationships – Build trusted relationships with business and technology partners.
• Leadership – For experienced candidates, provide training and mentorship to colleagues.

Who you are

• At least ten years of project management experience, preferably in financial services or technology. Experience managing cross-portfolio projects in a matrix environment. Familiar with waterfall and agile methodologies, SDLC, and tools like Planview, ServiceNow, JIRA.
• Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS, or related field. PMP is an asset.
• You champion change, are digitally savvy, collaborative, and value trust, teamwork, and accountability.
