Job summary

Linxus Group in Calgary is seeking a Sr. Mechanical REVIT Designer to model and design complete mechanical building systems for commercial, healthcare and institutional projects.

You will lead REVIT modelling, coordinate with architectural and electrical teams, and ensure code compliance while guiding junior designers. This role requires five days per week in office at the Calgary location and offers challenging, varied projects.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of experience using Autodesk MEP REVIT software.
• Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering is an asset.
• Minimum 1 year of Canadian work experience.
• Strong knowledge of applicable plumbing and building codes.
• Excellent written communication and software proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Design and model complete mechanical building systems in REVIT.
• Independently manage scopes with minimal supervision.
• Coach and delegate design tasks to junior designers.
• Coordinate mechanical systems with other disciplines.
• Direct clash detection and modelling reviews.
• Assist with contract administration, shop drawings, and RFI responses.
• Attend design and construction meetings as needed.
• Maintain project schedules and budgets with PM support.
• Interpret construction drawings and specifications.

Our client is a national mechanical engineering firm with offices located in Calgary, Vancouver, Toronto, Edmonton and Kelowna.

The company specializes in designing HVAC and plumbing Mechanical design for commercial, healthcare, institutional, residential, and mixed-use high-rise projects.

Currently, they are seeking an experienced building HVAC and plumbing REVIT designer who is interested in modeling schools, hospitals, art and entertainment facilities

Primary Objective:

As the Senior Mechanical REVIT designer, with institutional experience, you will be responsible for designing and modelling in REVIT a complete mechanical building system.

Job Description:

• Able to work independently on specified scopes with minimal supervision required.
• Coaching and delegating design tasks to designers.
• Selection of mechanical equipment working directly with suppliers and manufacturers representatives.
• Preparation of schematic design, design development and construction documents in REVIT.
• Directing clash detection and modelling review.
• Coordination of mechanical systems and design with other disciplines.
• Assist with Contract Administration, including shop drawing review, RFI responses and on-site review.
• May attend design and construction meetings with the client, other consultants and the contractors.
• Maintain project schedules and project budgets to track work progress and manpower resource utilization with assistance from the Project Manager.
• Detailed understanding of all building systems, including architectural, structural, civil, electrical and fire and how they impact and are impacted by the mechanical systems.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications.

Experience & Qualifications

• 5-10 years experience using Autodesk MEP REVIT software required
• A diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering is an asset.
• Must have 1 years of Canadian experience and
• Strong knowledge of current codes and standards, such as the applicable plumbing and building codes.
• Excellent written skills and understanding of software programs.
