Job summary

Linxus Group is seeking a Junior Mechanical Designer for its Calgary office to join a national mechanical engineering team. The role focuses on HVAC and plumbing design for commercial and high-rise projects, with a strong emphasis on producing detailed construction documents in AutoCAD or REVIT.

The candidate will work on load calculations, equipment selection, and design development, collaborating with suppliers, designers, and on-site teams in a non-hybrid, five-days-in-office environment in

Qualifications

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering is an asset.
• 1-3 years of experience.
• Relevant Canada-based industry experience is an asset.
• Mechanical HVAC and Plumbing design experience is an asset.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings.
• Knowledge of local codes (plumbing and building codes).

Responsibilities

• Place and size distribution systems and equipment according to industry standards.
• Perform load calculations using the company software.
• Select mechanical equipment working directly with suppliers and manufacturers.
• Prepare schematic design, design development and construction documents in AutoCAD or REVIT, and adhere to Reinbold Design Standards and Guidelines.
• Assist with Contract Administration, including shop drawing review, RFI responses and on-site review.
• May attend design and construction meetings with the client, other consultants and the contractors.

The company specializes in designing HVAC and plumbing Mechanical design for commercial, healthcare, institutional, residential, and mixed-use high-rise projects.

Currently, they are seeking a Jr.Mechanical Designer for their Calgary office as they expand and grow. Job Description

• Placing and sizing of distribution systems and equipment following industry standards and


• Perform load calculations using the company-provided software.


• Selection of mechanical equipment working directly with suppliers and manufacturers.


• Preparation of schematic design, design development and construction documents in either AutoCAD or REVIT, and adhere to Reinbold Design Standards and Guidelines.

Experience & Qualifications

• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including plumbing, HVAC, heating, cooling, and air handlers. Ability to interpret construction drawings.


• Strong knowledge of current codes and standards, such as the local plumbing and local building codes.


• Experience using building heating and cooling load calculations.


• Understanding of software programs (Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, REVIT).
