OpenText is a global leader in information management, where innovation, creativity, and collaboration are the key components of our corporate culture. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to partner with the most highly regarded companies in the world, tackle complex issues, and contribute to projects that shape the future of digital transformation.

AI-First. Future-Driven. Human-Centered.

At OpenText, AI is at the heart of everything we do—powering innovation, transforming work, and empowering digital knowledge workers. We are hiring talent AI can't replace to help us shape the future of information management. Join us.

Your Impact:

OpenText is a world leader in Information Management, where innovation, creativity, and collaboration are key components of our corporate culture. As a member of the Digital Experience Web Development team, you will help design, build, and operate secure, scalable digital platforms and AI-enabled solutions that serve customers and employees globally.

As a Sr. IT Software Developer (Digital Fullstack) , you will independently deliver full-stack and platform capabilities for OpenText's digital experience ecosystem. You will work across front-end, back-end, APIs, content platforms, cloud services, and delivery automation. This is a hands-on senior individual-contributor role that owns defined solutions and smaller projects end to end, guides teammates where appropriate, and continuously improves engineering practices.

What the role offers:

  • Design, develop, test, document, deploy, and maintain secure digital applications, APIs, integrations, and supporting services.
  • Build responsive and accessible user experiences using modern HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, and frameworks such as Angular, React, or Vue.
  • Develop server-side components and integrations using technologies such as Node.js, Python, Java, REST APIs, event-driven patterns, and relational or document databases.
  • Analyze existing and projected applications and implement enhancements that meet functional, performance, security, availability, and supportability requirements.
  • Support and enhance CMS, DAM, customer portal, CDN, search, analytics, and cloud-based application capabilities.
  • Build and improve CI/CD pipelines, automated tests, infrastructure configuration, deployment scripts, observability, and operational runbooks.
  • Use containers, source control, artifact repositories, and cloud services to deliver repeatable deployments across development, test, and production environments.
  • Participate in Agile planning, estimation, backlog refinement, design reviews, code reviews, debugging, release activities, incident response, and root-cause analysis.
  • Apply secure-development, privacy, accessibility, and data-handling standards throughout the software lifecycle.
  • Evaluate technical options, make evidence-based recommendations, and communicate trade-offs clearly to technical and business stakeholders.
  • Coordinate defined work packages, guide less-experienced developers, and proactively identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Use approved AI coding tools responsibly to accelerate delivery while maintaining code quality, explainability, security, and human accountability.

What you need to succeed:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of professional software development experience.
  • Demonstrated experience independently delivering production applications or systems across multiple stages of the software lifecycle.
  • Strong knowledge of web fundamentals, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, JSON, HTTP, browser behavior, and accessibility.
  • Proficiency in at least one modern front-end framework and one server-side programming language or runtime, such as Node.js, Python, or Java.
  • Experience designing and integrating RESTful APIs and working with relational or document databases.
  • Experience with Git-based source control, automated testing, CI/CD, containers, and structured deployment practices.
  • Working knowledge of cloud application services in at least one major cloud platform such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Ability to analyze incomplete information, adapt to ambiguity, select an appropriate course of action, and resolve complex but identifiable technical problems.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to coordinate work and explain technical decisions to varied audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with OpenText products such as Web CMS (TeamSite), Digital Asset Management (OTMM), OpenText Service Management (SMAX), and IDOL.
  • Experience with CDNs, web application firewalls, DNS, SSL/TLS certificate automation, routing, redirects, caching, and web performance optimization.
  • Experience with cloud-native services, infrastructure as code, Kubernetes or managed container platforms, and observability tooling.
  • Experience with SSO, OAuth 2.0/OIDC, role-based access control, and secure API integration.
  • Experience building AI-enabled applications, retrieval-based experiences, agents, or integrations with approved foundation-model services.
  • Public or shareable Git examples that demonstrate sound engineering practices.
Technical Assessment

Complete a small production-shaped web solution that demonstrates data extraction, transformation, joining, API design, user experience, automated testing, and deployment readiness.

Assignment

1. Using the fewest lines of code in the language of your choice, display a triangle of 3x4. State any assumptions in the comments. Bonus: create a second function that accepts any M x N, where M and N are positive integers, and display the triangle with the specified dimension.

2. As AI agents are becoming the default interface, we want to convert our web experience to be AI friendly. Design and develop a markdown converter for my.opentext.com knowledge articles. Examples:

  • https://my.opentext.com/support/article/2341059
  • https://my.opentext.com/support/article/2310451

1. Expose the result through an API.

2. Provide a CI workflow that builds and tests the solution. Assumption: deploying to a hyperscaler serverless service, cached and delivered via a CDN.

3. Provide the design diagram for how we can distribute this page to multiple clients or platforms, and suggestion on how to evaluate the performance and effectiveness of the distribution.

Submission Requirements
  • Share the source through GitHub, GitLab, CodePen, or an equivalent reviewable repository.
  • Include a README covering setup, architecture, assumptions, trade-offs, testing, security considerations, and known limitations.
  • AI assistance is allowed. You must be able to explain, validate, and modify all submitted code during the interview.
  • As part of the submission, share the AI Coding Agent session or exported session transcript used to produce or refine the solution. The session will be reviewed to understand your problem-solving process, prompts, validation steps, corrections, and ownership of the final implementation. Remove secrets, credentials, personal data, or confidential information before sharing.
