Job summary

OpenText in Ontario, Canada seeks a Senior Software Developer to drive enterprise software initiatives. You will collaborate in an Agile team to maintain capabilities and deliver high-quality features across cloud and on-premise platforms.

You will work with microservices, Java, Kafka, PostgreSQL/MySQL, and hyperscale cloud technologies, guiding junior engineers and shaping technical direction.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience delivering enterprise software
• Strong Java/J2EE, Spring Web Services, SOAP/REST APIs
• Web development with JavaScript, HTML, CSS & REST APIs
• Experience with GWT/GXT, AJAX, JSON, JAXB
• Relational databases and OO design modeling
• Docker container design and deployment to orchestration platforms
• Virtualization tech such as Hyper‑V
• Git, GitLab, Maven, JUnit, Selenium, Tomcat
• CI, automated testing, performance testing, QA
• Understanding of AI concepts in development

Your Impact

As a Senior Software Developer, you will be a key contributor to OpenText’s cloud &on-prem product suite. You will work within a collaborative Agile team to maintain existing capabilities and deliver quality features. You will help shape our products, solve challenging problems, and support your teammates using technologies including microservices, Java, Kafka, PostgreSQL/MySQL databases, and hyperscale cloud platforms.

What The Role Offers

As a Senior Software Developer, you will:

• Own and deliver projects aligned with the team's quarterly cadence, ensuring work contributes to client success.
• Model integrity and excellence, influencing best practices within the team and leveraging expertise.
• Identify and address issues when the current path does not effectively serve client needs, collaborating with the manager for corrections.
• Keep client value in focus, using input from others to determine appropriate technical solutions and making timely decisions without compromising trust.
• Decompose client problems into designs with multiple interacting software components, mastering code fluency fundamentals.
• Serve as a technical lead, recognized for growing domain expertise, embracing change, and navigating ambiguity with resiliency, while fostering the development of less experienced team members.
• Possess 5-8 years of previous professional experience.

What You Need To Succeed

• 6+ years of experience developing and delivering enterprise software products.
• Strong proficiency in Java/J2EE, Spring Web Services, and SOAP/REST APIs.
• Experience in web development using JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and REST APIs.
• Experience with GWT/GXT, AJAX, JSON, and JAXB serialization.
• Experience with relational databases, object-oriented design, and modeling techniques.
• Experience designing Docker container solutions and deploying to enterprise orchestration platforms.
• Experience with virtualization technologies such as Hyper‑V.
• Familiarity with Git, GitLab, Maven, JUnit, Selenium, and Apache Tomcat.
• Experience with continuous integration, automated testing, performance testing, and quality assurance.
• Understanding of AI concepts and their application to development challenges.
• Strong coding and problem‑solving skills for scalable, performant, configurable software.

Salary Range

$98,080.00 - $147,120.00; Depending on the candidate’s education, experience, skills, geographical location, and alignment with internal equity and external market, actual salary may vary and be higher or lower than the range posted.
