Job summary

NPAworldwide is seeking senior firmware engineers to join the Richmond, BC development team supporting the Americas for an industry-leading security camera brand. This hybrid role involves onsite presence a day or two per week with strong collaboration across Hardware, Mobile, and Cloud teams.

You will design and develop sophisticated firmware for wireless/IP networking, optimize performance, and mentor project teams while delivering high-quality, reliable solutions.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on embedded firmware development in wireless/IP domains.
• Strong C / C++ with Linux and RTOS deliverables.
• Proven firmware solutions for high quality, reliable applications.
• Leadership and mentorship experience on project teams.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of complex firmware components from design to acceptance.
• Lead new feature development across product lines.
• Develop embedded firmware optimizing size, speed and power.
• Bring up SoCs, sensors, chipsets; collaborate with Hardware, Mobile, and Cloud teams.
• Coordinate with ODMs in SE Asia.

These are quality opportunities for Senior Firmware Engineers (2 X full time plus a contractor opportunity available) to join the Richmond development team. Designated as hybrid, your comrades are typically on site only a day or so each week.

• Excellent knowledge of firmware development of C / C++/ Linux / RTOS based deliverables
• Provable history of creating successful firmware solutions for high quality, reliable, applications.
• A demonstrable demeanor and history of providing leadership/mentorship to project teams.

Creating products used by millions provides a level of developer satisfaction like no other. In practice, office attendance is mostly at your discretion, and exemplified by many team members working from home 4-5 days/week. These roles cannot be performed 100% remote, and you must live within reasonable commuting distance to the office.
