Job summary

Hatch is seeking an experienced estimator to lead detailed Capital Cost estimates for major projects from FEL 1 through FEL 4. The role requires deep knowledge of first principles estimating, robust MS Office skills, and site experience with DF/L and production rates.

You will contribute to schedule inputs, cost control, and database maintenance on multi‑discipline EPCM projects. The successful candidate will collaborate with project teams to ensure accurate, timely estimates and compliance with

Qualifications

• 10–15 years experience in a first principle estimating environment on large multi‑discipline EPCM/Contracting projects.
• Strong MS Office skills and experience with estimating tools and systems.
• Site experience with knowledge of DF/L and production rates.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed Capital Cost Estimates across FEL 1–4 classifications.
• Understand estimating scope, deliverables, schedules, formats, and reports.
• Familiarise with estimate plan and project lifecycle process.
• Deliver accurate, comprehensive estimates per procedures and standards.
• Input project deliverables into schedule and ensure timely meetings.
• Calculate direct and indirect field costs on a first principles basis or factorised methods.
• Contribute to escalation and budgeting processes and maintain estimating databases.
• Attend project progress meetings, estimate reviews, gate release meetings, and related activities.

As a successful candidate, you will:

• Have the overall responsibility for the detail development of project Capital Cost Estimates through the rate of Hatch estimate classifications (FEL 1,2,3,4)
• Understanding estimating scope of work, deliverables, schedule of execution, estimate structure, formats, reports etc.
• Familiarise with estimate plan
• Delivery of an accurate and comprehensive estimate in accordance with estimating procedures, standards and practices
• Input into project schedule in terms of project deliverables to estimating and the ultimate meeting on time of said deliverables
• Calculation of direct and indirect field costs form a first principle basis or factorisation as applicable
• Conformance to the Project Lifecycle Process, Global and Regional Estimating Guidelines and sound first principle estimating techniques
• Calculation of cash expenditure, predicted escalation over project duration
  • Attendance at Project Progress Meetings
  • Attendance at the estimate review meetings
  • Monitoring and upgrading of estimating database
  • Preparation and input Gate Release Meetings

You bring to the role:

• 10 - 15 years experience in a first principle estimating environment, ideally on large multi‑discipline projects in an EPCM / Contracting environment throughout various classes of estimate
• Strong MS Office skills and experience with tools and estimating systems
• Site experience including hands on knowledge of D.F.L and production rates.

Preferred

• Knowledge of EPC/LSTK estimating techniques
• Collaborate on exciting projects to develop innovative solutions
