Responsibilities

  • Develop algorithms and controllers in an embedded-C environmentforenergy and power managementfeatures and applications for our commercial and customer fleet.
  • Define the software architecture, create design requirements and implementation specifications while working with multiplestakeholdersfor a robust andefficientlow voltage system.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to define,developand integrate vehicle-widefunctions.
  • Write embedded test code for testing all software components in an ECU (Electronic Control Units), from HAL (Hardware Abstraction Layer) all the way up to the application, using unit, SIL,andphysical HILtests.
  • Create scalable architectures and designs keeping in mind Functional Safety and runningDFMEAs.
  • Leadtechnical meetings with team members and managementto reviewsystem design,software architecture, and feature performance.
  • Guide teams with their test plans and experiments to achieve design & validation goals.
  • Participate in code reviews during development sprints. Provide technical feedback to drive qualitydesign.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering.
  • 5+ years’ experience in embedded programming in C or C++
  • 3+ years’ experience in using Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) such asFreeRTOS,SafeRTOSetc.
  • Experience with bus standards such asSPI, I2C, CAN, LIN, and Ethernet.
  • Experience with communications protocols such as UDS,DoIP, and TCP/IP.
  • Experience with advanced 32-bit multi-core microcontrollers.
  • Proficientin using test equipment for debugging at the hardware level (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.)
  • Strong interpersonal skills.

Pay Disclosure

Salary Range for British Columbia Based Applicants:$108,200 - $135,300 CAD (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).

Benefits Summary: Rivian provides robust supplementary medical/Rx, dental, and vision insurance employees, their source or domestic partner, and children. Coverage is effective on the first da of employment, and Rivian covers all of the premiums.
