  2. Define system interconnects, electrical schematics, and key automation components in collaboration with other engineering disciplines to ensure design consistency and compliance.
  3. Work with project managers and team members to translate expectations and specifications into final designs.
  4. Oversee electrical and control-related deliverables from vendors, ensuring compliance with standards, specifications, and safety requirements.
  5. Design power distribution, control panels, and systems interconnects to meet standards such as NFPA79, IEC 60204-1, UL 508A, and ISO 13849-1.
  6. Troubleshoot electrical systems, control panels, and safety circuits, providing mitigation techniques as needed.
  7. Design, develop, and commission machine control systems from concept through implementation.
  8. Design industrial control panels and power distribution/control systems using Beckhoff, Siemens, and Allen-Bradley platforms.
  9. Provide training for transition to production teams and contribute to Tesla’s electrical standards and best practices.
  10. Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, up to 50% during busy project seasons, with a valid passport.
What You'll Bring
  1. Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  2. Proficiency in electrical CAD systems, preferably Eplan Electrical P8 (Version 2.9/2023).
  3. Experience selecting circuit protectors, disconnects, wiring, sensors, safety hardware, PLC hardware, modules, contactors, relays, VFDs, servo systems, safety components, etc.
  4. Knowledge of electrical standards such as NFPA 79, NEC, IEC 60204-1, UL 508A, and safety standards like ISO 13849-1 & ISO 12100.
  5. Familiarity with control systems and components from Beckhoff, Siemens, and Allen-Bradley.
  6. Experience with Field BUS protocols such as EtherCat, FSoE, ProfiNet, and ProfiSafe.
  7. Hands-on experience troubleshooting high voltage and control circuits, instrumentation, and safety interlocks.
  8. Ability to interpret process and instrumentation diagrams for electrical design.
  9. Ability to work collaboratively within a team and lead when necessary, actively participating in meetings.
