Job summary

Shoppers Drug Mart is seeking a Sr. Director, Pharmacy Services & Virtual Care to drive the launch and ongoing success of our Pharmacy Services programs and virtual care portfolio in Canada.

You will own strategy, roadmaps, growth, and financial planning while leading cross‑functional teams across marketing, loyalty, operations, and digital health to deliver patient‑centric care and measurable outcomes.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of relevant experience as a licensed Pharmacist.
  • University degree in Business, Healthcare, Finance or Marketing; MBA or equivalent is an asset.
  • 7–10 years of experience leading large programs and cross‑functional teams in large enterprises.
  • Management consulting experience in healthcare, pharmacy, digital health, or retail is an asset.
  • Experience in a B2C product support environment including partnerships, loyalty, or product management.
  • Strong financial analysis and ability to build executive-level presentations.
  • Extremely proficient in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.

Responsibilities

  • Lead go‑to‑market launches and ongoing operations of the pharmacy services platform.
  • Own the strategy, roadmap, growth, and portfolio performance for Virtual Care.
  • Identify and manage strategic partnerships expanding the ecosystem.
  • Develop multi‑year portfolio strategies to drive growth and outcomes.
  • Provide executive leadership for strategic initiatives with governance and reporting.
  • Collaborate with Health team to align enablement and operations needs.
  • Represent pharmacy services and virtual care in cross‑functional alignment sessions.
  • Develop business cases and analytics to inform decisions and growth opportunities.
  • Partner with Healthcare Innovation to extend the digital platform to external partners.

Sr. Director, Pharmacy Services & Virtual Care

You will be responsible for enabling the launch and ongoing success of our Pharmacy Services programs. You will lead the development and execution of the go-to-market strategy and ongoing business management of our Pharmacy Services portfolio to deliver a world‑class health experience focused on quality patient outcomes. In addition, you will be responsible for the strategy, product roadmap, growth, and business performance of the Virtual Care portfolio, partnering closely with the Digital Health and Clinical Operations teams. Reporting to the Vice President, Pharmacy Services & Strategic Initiatives, you will work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams to deliver the approved strategy, product roadmaps, and financial plan. This role will be instrumental in shaping, implementing, and evolving both the Pharmacy Services and Virtual Care roadmaps to support our long‑term vision for accessible, connected, and patient‑centred healthcare. This is a people leadership role with direct reports.

What You'll Do
  • Lead the go‑to‑market launch and ongoing operations of our pharmacy services platform by working with cross‑functional stakeholders (marketing, loyalty, operations, finance, legal etc.) to develop a coordinated release plan and support model
  • Own the business strategy, product roadmap, growth, and portfolio performance for Virtual Care, partnering closely with Digital Health and Clinical Operations to identify new opportunities, deliver strategic initiatives, and evolve our virtual care offerings.
  • Identify, evaluate, and manage strategic partnerships that expand the Pharmacy Services and Virtual Care ecosystem and support enterprise healthcare priorities
  • Develop multi‑year portfolio strategies and business plans that support growth, improve patient outcomes, and advance the Pharmacy Services and Virtual Care vision.
  • Provide executive leadership for strategic initiatives by establishing governance, monitoring portfolio performance, managing risks, and communicating progress, financials, and recommendations to senior leadership and Executive stakeholders
  • Work closely with the Health team to understand their product roadmaps and enablement / operations needs for deployment and sustainment
  • Provide strategic oversight of the Pharmacy Services portfolio and virtual care by identifying operational risks, resolving complex issues, and partnering with Retail Operations and Enterprise Support teams to continuously improve customer and provider experiences across digital and in‑store channels.
  • Represent the pharmacy services team and virtual care in cross‑functional initiative alignment sessions to ensure to the appropriate strategic connections / experiences are made where appropriate
  • Lead the development of business cases, performance measurement frameworks, and analytics to inform strategic decisions, optimize portfolio performance, and identify growth opportunities
  • Work closely with the Healthcare Innovation and Provider teams to ensure the support model for the digital platform extends effectively to key external partners and / or providers when appropriate (focusing primarily on the intersections with the pharmacy services digital platform)
  • Lead the development and execution of the pharmacy services and virtual care communication plans; this includes working directly with our Internal/External Communications, Government Relations and Professional Affairs teams to develop and present updates at department meetings, town halls, internal/external conferences, industry events, and other channels as required
What You'll Need
  • 3‑5 years of relevant experience as a licensed Pharmacist is an asset
  • University degree in Business, Healthcare, Finance or Marketing; MBA or equivalent Master degree is an asset
  • 7‑10 years of relevant experience participating or leading large program rollouts and cross‑functional teams in large enterprises
  • Management consulting experience, ideally within healthcare, pharmacy, digital health, retail, or large‑scale business transformation, is an asset.
  • Retail and / or Healthcare experience is an asset
  • Demonstrated experience developing business strategy, financial business cases, and executive‑level presentations that influence investment and strategic decision‑making.
  • Proven ability to drive results without authority through the creation and management of collaborative relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Able to build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders; able to effectively communicate issues, actively engage and influence and work collaboratively as a team member
  • Experience managing, engaging and coaching teams (both direct and indirect reports) to support them on their learning and career development plans
  • Experience in a B2C product support environment specifically in such areas as: partnership management, product marketing, consulting, product management, loyalty, digital or equivalent experience
  • Experience working in a regulated environment and collaborating with Legal, Regulatory and Professional Affairs teams and processes
  • Strong commercialization and partnership management skills
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills; ability to interpret and present results (both written and verbal) in an engaging, meaningful way for internal users
  • A creative thinker who is comfortable working with ambiguity, ability to multi‑task, prioritize workload and work in a fast‑paced environment
  • Provides solutions by using imaginative approaches where constructive thinking and innovation are required
  • Knowledge in financial analysis and modeling; ability to build financial business cases and reporting / analytics capabilities
  • Extremely proficient in the use of Power Point, Excel, Word
