Job summary

Rogers Communications is seeking a Sr DevSevOps Engineer to join the Enterprise DevSecOps Engineering Team, working from Toronto or Brampton. You will shape build and release systems across enterprise, collaborating with DevOps, Cyber Security, and Cloud Infrastructure teams.

You will lead design, mentor, review code, and develop automation for applications. The role requires hands-on experience with cloud architectures, CI/CD pipelines and security tooling, plus strong teamwork across

Qualifications

• Experience with public cloud infrastructure and solution design concepts (AWS, Azure, Google).
• Hands-on Java and/or Python development experience.
• Linux (RHEL) scripting knowledge.
• Groovy for CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, ADO, Jenkins).
• Experience with GitHub SCM and release concepts.
• Familiar with code quality tools (SonarQube, Xray).
• Experience with AI platforms and emerging AI capabilities.
• Ability to collaborate with distributed teams across geographies.
• Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills.

Who We're Looking For

We are currently seeking a Sr DevSevOps Engineer to join the Rogers Enterprise DevSecOps Engineering Team. Working from Toronto or Brampton office, you will work with the Enterprise DevOps team, Cyber Security, our Cloud Infrastructure team and application teams across enterprise to shape the build and release systems that will empower our digital presence.

What You'll Do

• Leads solution designs, documents architecture and creates high-level design documents
• Helps determine/enrich coding standards along with the senior development team and ensures consistent adoption by developers
• Conducts code reviews, mentors and coaches' team on architectures, solutions and coding practices
• Proactively provides objective feedback to consultants and development partners to ensure proper execution of projects
• Design and develop automation solutions for application build and deployment
• Enhance and maintain existing solutions bringing in lessons learnt and best practices
• Work in a small team with startup mentality to write high-quality code
• Proactively recommend solutions by comparing advantages and disadvantages of different approaches
• Collaborate with the development team, support, and business on day-to-day development requests and support
• Actively document all activities and participate in peer review for code and documentation
• Follow industry best practices in all development activities

What You Bring

• Experience with public cloud infrastructure and solution design concepts (AWS, Azure, Google)
• Hands-on experiences with Java and/or Python, with proficiency in at least one.
• Hands-on Experience with Linux systems specifically RHEL including scripting
• Working knowledge of Groovy as a pipeline scripting language
• Experience with CICD tools like GitHub Actions, ADO or Jenkins
• Experience with SCM like GitHub with knowledge of branching and release concepts
• Experience with Application security and code quality tools like SonarQube, Xray
• Hands on experience with AI Platform like GitHub copilot, Claude, and knowledge of emerging AI capabilities
• Experience in working with distributed teams situated locally or globally in different geographies
• Flexible and adaptive, team player with excellent analytical, communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work well under pressure, take ownership on the deliverables, prioritize work and well organized
