This role is for one of Canada’s first and North America’s most successful social technology organizations. They are a fast-growing, dedicated team of entrepreneurial-minded peers who have a passion for helping small- and medium-sized charities succeed, while engaging with donors to increase giving in Canada. They are looking for a Sr DevOps Engineer with a passion for social change to join their team — someone who is a quick learner and comfortable supporting physical and cloud infrastructure.

Reporting to the CTO, you will be building and supporting the infrastructure for the delivery and hosting of applications and services that help donors and charities make a difference.

NOTE:

This is a remote-first position, but candidates must be within the GTA for occasional meetings and company gatherings (max 4x annually).

Responsibilities:

• Ensuring infrastructure and security implementations are correctly configured and maintained to support a quickly growing business.
• Collaborating with product and development teams and stakeholders to build the technical infrastructure requirements and development plans based on business needs.
• Working with the CTO to create and execute the infrastructure roadmap and define milestones of delivery.
• Ensuring projects are delivered timely, and communicating any barriers or delays to stakeholders.

Requirements:

• University degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline.
• 6+ years of relevant experience.
• 4+ years of Azure cloud experience and FinOps.
• Experience scaling infrastructure for cyclical traffic.
• Supporting .NET-based applications on IIS servers.
• Supporting Windows, Linux, and OS-based stacks (Django, WordPress).
• Expertise in infrastructure, endpoint, and cloud security practices.
• Proficiency with configuring Nginx, Ansible.
• Experience building and managing DR sites and data synchronization across data centers.
• E-commerce experience, including payment gateways, transactional engines, and PCI compliance.
• Building, configuring, optimizing, and troubleshooting IIS and .NET Core servers.
• Supporting SQL Server, Postgres, and MySQL databases.
• Experience with continuous integration tools like Bamboo.
• Configuring and maintaining physical servers, networks, switches.
• Profiling, stress testing, resiliency, and load testing experience.
• Creating, scaling, and managing containers (Docker, Kubernetes).

Nice to have:

• VMWare experience.
• Running .NET Core on Linux.
• Experience with Elastic Search, Redis.
