Job summary

FedEx Group in Abbotsford seeks an interview-position courier to operate company vehicles, delivering and picking up packages in a floating capacity for a minimum of 15 routes. This role is not tied to a regular assigned route.

You will mentor hourly staff, demonstrate best practices in communication, conflict resolution, and leadership, and support senior management by promoting efficient service and identifying incremental revenue opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid driver's licence and have a good driving record.
• Ability to lift 70 lbs and to maneuver any package weighing up to 150 lbs with appropriate equipment.
• Must maintain DG certification through recurrency training.
• In the Province of Quebec, bilingual (French and English).
• Six (6) months of previous Courier experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate company vehicles to deliver and pickup packages across a floating schedule, covering a minimum of 15 routes.
• Mentor hourly employees by modeling best practices in communication, conflict resolution and leadership.
• Provide coverage for open routes in the absence of the normally assigned courier.
• Promote continued sales and generate potential incremental revenue wherever possible.

To model the way for hourly employees by becoming a mentor and demonstrating role model behaviour including strong communication, conflict resolution and leadership ability (through Best Practices methods). Technical Skill Requirements

Solid knowledge of the following:

Ability to successfully complete all basic and recurrency training (including completing and maintaining DG certification). Must maintain accreditation through yearly recurrency training prior to expiration.

Ability to gain and maintain FedEx DG Specialist certification
