Job summary

CIBC is seeking a Sr. Analyst, Application Reliability Engineering - Operations to ensure stability, performance, and readiness of supported apps and services. You’ll build dashboards, tune alerts, and drive post-incident actions in a 24x7 on-call-ready, hybrid on-site role.

You’ll collaborate across teams to improve telemetry, SLI/SLO alignment, and automation, with on-site 1–3 days/week and remote days as needed. Strong SRE/DevOps background and hands-on tooling are required.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of experience in SRE or DevOps.
• Hands-on with Dynatrace, Splunk, Azure, CI/CD, scripting, and troubleshooting.
• Experience supporting containerized apps in OpenShift or AKS.

Responsibilities

• Provide production support and stabilize applications and infrastructure.
• Lead telemetry instrumentation, dashboards, and alerting standards.
• Coordinate on-call rotation and incident post-mortems.

What you'll be doing

The Sr. Analyst, Application Reliability Engineering - Operations is responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and operational readiness of supported applications and services through proactive monitoring, alert tuning, incident response, and automation of operational toil in line with SRE practices. The role leads root cause analysis, documents findings, drives corrective actions from post-incident reviews, and participates in the on-call rotation while mentoring peers on operational best practices. This role will build and maintain dashboards, define alerting standards, lead telemetry instrumentation, validate observability coverage, and support SLI/SLO alignment across containerized and AI-enabled applications. Please note that this role has a requirement for on-call support (on a rotation) to ensure 24x7 support is maintained.

How you'll succeed

• Production Support- Make an impact by ensuring stability of our application and infrastructure technology for our clients. Identify and resolve medium to highly complex production problems for support of applications. Collaboratively work to identify root cause and define actions to eliminate recurrence. Maintain a strong knowledge of approaches, tools and techniques for anticipating, recognizing, and resolving technical problems.

• Technology Focus- Stay abreast of industry trends and play a key role in CIBC's digital transformation by supporting multiple initiatives. Proactively monitor and analyze supported services to identify opportunities for improvement and use automation to streamline execution.

• Team Collaboration- Coordinate and/or execute implementation plans for new medium to complex application and maintenance updates. Enable others through regular knowledge sharing and engagement on projects and application support.

Who you are

• You can demonstrate 2-3 years experience in. SRE, DevOps, hands-on experience with Dynatrace, Splunk, Azure, DevSecOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, scripting, troubleshooting, and support for containerized applications in OpenShift or AKS environments.
