Job description

Reporting to the Director, Special Projects in the Corporate Actuarial team, the Senior Actuarial Analyst will join an innovative, project-based team with expertise in data science, predictive modelling, and actuarial work. The team collaborates to convert business needs into automated solutions, enhancing analysis speed and quality across the department. Projects span Enterprise-level initiatives and include Reserving, Planning, Capital Modelling, and Strategic Risk.

To succeed, the Senior Actuarial Analyst should have a solid understanding of P&C actuarial concepts, programming skills, and a quick learning ability. The role involves developing expertise in Corporate Actuarial objectives and working with SQL, Python, process automation, cloud data platforms, and predictive modelling.

What can you expect in this role?
  • Compile and categorize data from spreadsheets, databases, and cloud platforms for valuation, planning, capital modelling, and risk evaluation.
  • Create and evaluate predictive models supporting Corporate Actuarial functions.
  • Communicate actuarial concepts and recommendations to Management verbally and in writing, with supporting documentation.
  • Lead the design and implementation of automated processes for the Corporate Actuarial teams.
  • Respond independently to internal and external stakeholder requests.
  • Perform peer reviews on technical and qualitative analysis of colleagues and junior team members.
What do you bring to the role?
  • University degree in Actuarial Sciences, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.
  • Completion of 4-6 CAS exams.
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure in a busy environment.
  • Team player, adaptable to a fast-paced environment.

Salary Range: $69,800 - $140,400.

Compensation varies based on location, skills, education, experience, and market conditions. Incentive plans may also apply, contingent on performance.
