BDR Services Ltd. is seeking a Sprinkler System Installer Apprentice to join our Brandon Office. The role involves assisting with inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems and helping install systems in new and existing buildings.

You will pick materials and fabricate piping, hangers, braces, and related components, performing physically demanding tasks daily. Ideal candidates communicate well, work independently or in a team, and have mechanical aptitude and English

Job description

BDR Services Ltd. is seeking a Sprinkler System Installer Apprentice to join our team in our Brandon Office.

BDR Services Ltd. specializes in the Supply, Installation, Maintenance, Testing and Repair of Automatic Sprinkler Fire Protection Systems, Fire Alarm Systems, Fire Extinguishers, and Kitchen Suppression Systems. Established in 1986, BDR Services Ltd. is a Manitoba based company with offices located in Brandon and Winnipeg. For the past 40 years, BDR has demonstrated a strong work ethic and commitment in performing high quality workmanship and providing excellent service to our customers.

BDR is a fully certified contractor with UA Local 254. The union has its office in Winnipeg that represents union labour tradespersons in the main pipefitting trades in and around Manitoba.

The trade of sprinkler fitter is designated a compulsory certification trade in Manitoba with education and training through Apprenticeship Manitoba. Upon satisfactory completion a Red Seal certification is achieved.

Job Description:

• Assist with inspecting, testing, and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems.
• Assist with the installation of fire sprinkler systems in new and existing buildings.
• Picking materials and fabrication of piping systems, hangers, braces, and any other associated work.
• Perform physically demanding tasks daily.
• Other duties as required.

Skill Requirements:

• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Must be competent to work independently, as well as in a team environment
• Must be physically fit
• Possess a mechanical and spatial aptitude
• Have a good command of the English language
• Hold a valid Class 5 driver?s license
• Completion of Grade 12 education
• Ability to work evenings and weekends as required.
• Experience with Pipefitting work would be considered an asset
