Job summary

Rotaflow is seeking a Sprinkler Fitter for project-based work in the Fort McMurray area, Alberta. The successful candidate will maintain, service, and repair wet, dry, pre-action and other fire protection systems, including pumps and backflow devices.

Responsibilities include reading plans, installing and testing systems, coordinating with trades, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. The role requires Red Seal certification and strong NFPA knowledge.

Qualifications

• Red Seal Journeyman Sprinkler Fitter with 3+ years industry experience.
• Experience testing and servicing Fire Pumps, PIV, Standpipes and Fire Hydrants.
• Experience in Install/Service/Repair of Wet and dry pre-action, deluge and specialty Fire Suppression Systems.
• Experience in Water-Based Fire Protection Systems.
• Good oral/written communications & Good computer skills.
• Good knowledge of NFPA 25, the Standard for Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance of Water-Based Fire Protection systems.
• This position is safety sensitive

Responsibilities

• Install, modify, and remove fire protection systems in accordance with NFPA guidelines.
• Review plans and specifications; prepare cost estimates for labour and materials for installation projects.
• Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and project plans to determine system layouts and installation requirements.
• Assemble, fit, and secure pipes, valves, and components for fire protection systems.
• Perform system commissioning, pressure testing, and flushing of newly installed fire protection systems.
• Perform commissioning and startup of main firewater lines, standpipe, and hose systems.
• Install and configure fire pumps, standpipes, hoses, PIVs, monitors, and control valves to meet project specifications.
• Assist in the installation, maintenance, and operation of fire systems and components.
• Coordinate with other trades and project teams to ensure proper system integration and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
• Perform work in accordance with company and client safety procedures, as well as O.H. & S. Acts and Regulations.
• Actively participating in the development of Job Hazard Assessments (JHAs) and Safe Work Practices relevant to the position.
• Attending to emergency calls as required.

We are currently accepting resumes for Sprinkler Fitter for work in the Fort Murray Area. This will be a project-based position. Consideration will be given to Fort McMurray residents.

Position Requirements:

A Sprinkler Fitter is responsible for the maintenance, service, and repair of fire protection systems, including wet, dry, pre-action, and suppression systems; as well as fire pumps and backflow devices. What makes you valuable?

• Installing, modifying, and removing fire protection systems in accordance with NFPA guidelines, including water-based fire protection systems, wet and dry sprinkler systems, fire pumps, standpipes, hydrants, backflow preventers, and special hazard systems
• Reviewing plans and specifications, preparing cost estimates for labour and materials for installation projects.
