Rotaflow Controls Inc. in Edmonton, AB is hiring a Sprinkler Fitter Apprentice (2nd–3rd year) to join our fire protection team.

The role covers installation, service and repair of various fire protection systems and components, including pumps and backflow devices, across Western Canada. The ideal candidate is a UA Local 488 member in good standing, able to read blueprints, follow instructions, and perform physically demanding work in diverse locations.

Qualifications

• Sprinkler Fitter Apprentice with a valid trade apprentice ID.
• Member of UA Local 488 in good standing.
• Able to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and performing above-head work.
• comfortable with ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment.
• Able to read construction blueprints, diagrams and specs.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record.

Responsibilities

• Install, service and repair fire protection systems (wet, dry, pre‑action, suppression).
• Install and maintain fire pumps and backflow devices.
• Work on new installations and retrofit/renovation projects.
• Report to Project Manager or Foreman as designated.

As we continue with our growth strategy, we are currently seeking and have an immediate opening for a qualified and motivated individual to fill the position of Apprentice (2nd – 3rd Year) based in Edmonton, AB.

The Sprinkler Fitter will report to the Project Manager / Foreman or his designate. We are seeking a customer-focused, highly organized, and experienced fitter for a permanent position, with previous experience in new installations and renovation/retrofit work.

Key Responsibilities:

A Sprinkler Fitter apprentice is responsible for the installation, service, and repair of fire protection systems, including wet, dry, pre-action, and suppression systems, as well as fire pumps and backflow devices.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Sprinkler Fitter Apprentice with a valid trade apprentice ID
• A member of UA Local 488 in good standing.
• Follow verbal and written instructions.
• Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools weighing up to 50 lbs.
• The majority of work is all above head.
• Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
• Read and understand construction blueprints, diagrams, and specifications used in installation activities.
• Ability to work flexible hours and at multiple locations.
• Ability to adhere to, implement, and always follow safety guidelines and procedures.
• Strong organizational skills, a positive attitude, an ability to learn quickly, along with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Security Clearance is an asset.
• Possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
