Please note this is a permanent full-time position with an irregular schedule, weekdays from 3:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.
In this role, you will report to the Sports Managing Editor (internet/digital services/radio/TV) and work as a reporter/host for the Sports express sportscast. You must have the integrity and self-confidence to deliver accurate, relevant news content across all of our platforms.
You will conduct research and interviews, write copy, edit audio and video, and produce thorough, fact-checked, dynamic, compelling news content for delivery primarily on our TV, radio and digital platforms.
Your work must also adhere to CBC/Radio-Canada’s Journalistic Standards and Practices.
Your profile:
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Three (3) years’ journalism experience or equivalent
Skills:
- Broad general knowledge
- Thorough familiarity with the sports scene
- Solid command of French (working language)
- Solid command of English is an asset
- Ability to write effectively for all platforms (digital, mobile, social, radio and TV) and strong interviewing skills
- Understanding of CBC/Radio-Canada’s Journalistic Standards and Practices
- Ability to thrive in a team environment while being a resourceful self-starter
- Creative, enterprising and inquisitive approach to fact-gathering
- Strong personal initiative and independence in creating digital content
- Very good knowledge of digital journalism, digital formats and social media management
- High level of proficiency with Media Composer and Dalet
- Ability to work well under pressure to tight deadlines
