Job summary

Startec Compression & Process seeks an experienced Spooling Supervisor for our Shepard Shop in Calgary, AB. You will lead the spooling team, assign tasks, ensure safe, on-time production and maintain high quality standards for modular process equipment.

You will review isometrics, P&IDs, and drawings, coordinate with production and QC, manage materials readiness, track progress, and coach apprentices while upholding Alberta OHS and welding procedures.

Qualifications

• Journeyperson certificate in Pipefitting, Welding, or related trade.
• 5+ years of spooling, pipe fabrication, or shop production experience.
• Experience supervising a spooling or fabrication team.
• Strong ability to read isometrics, P&IDs, GAs, redlines, and blueprints.
• Good understanding of shop safety, Alberta OHS, welding procedures, quality checks, and production flow.
• Clear communicator who can lead crews and solve problems in a busy shop.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

This Spooling Supervisor leads the spooling team in the shop, assigns work, keeps materials moving, and makes sure pipe spools are built safely, on time, and to the right quality standards.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

QUALIFICATIONS:
