Position Description:
This role is hybrid and requires you to be at our downtown Toronto and/or Client office at a minimum 3 days per week - subject to change at any time.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
- Contributes to the design, development, and deployment of various projects and initiatives within Splunk to enhance the security posture and capabilities of the Corporate Security team. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
- Assist in the planning, execution, and delivery of Splunk development projects and analytics initiatives in support of investigations, criminal activity, and risk mitigation.
- Onboarding data in diverse formats into Splunk from various source systems by defining and configuring data inputs and settings to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
- Develop queries using Splunk SPL based on business requirements, working with large datasets to provide insights that are thoroughly tested and validated prior to deployment.
- Design and develop dashboards, alerts, reports, and visualizations in Splunk to meet business needs, ensuring they are user-friendly and actionable.
- Provide troubleshooting support by diagnosing and resolving Splunk-related issues.
- Establish and maintain effective communication with internal technology and business partners to ensure project success.
- Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and culture influence day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Promote a high-performance environment and contribute to an inclusive work culture.
Required qualifications:
- Solid experience in an analytical role, using Splunk SPL to create dashboards, rules, alerts, preferably in user behavioral analytics and digital fraud analysis.
- Experience with analytical tools like Power BI, SAS, Java, R, Python, Hadoop, HIVE, Spark, etc.
- Training or certifications in Splunk Enterprise (versions 7.x and 8.x) and Data Analytics are assets.
- Strong communication skills in verbal, written, and presentation formats.
- Creative, analytical, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Self-motivated, results-oriented, and committed to adding value.
- Knowledge of fraud trends and experience in fraud detection is an asset.
