Job summary

Accenture is seeking a Spend Optimization Consultant in Canada to drive cost reduction and procurement value for Fortune 500 clients. You will leverage data, AI, and category expertise to identify savings opportunities and lead cross-functional teams in complex sourcing projects.

You will engage with English-speaking stakeholders across North America and travel to client sites as needed, delivering measurable improvements in procurement processes and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 2+ years in strategic sourcing execution, category planning, contracting, negotiations.
• 2+ years in operating model, process, and policy design for procurement.
• 2+ years as a consultant in Professional Services.
• English required for interactions across Canada, US and other regions.

Responsibilities

• Spot and solve procurement problems using data analytics and real-world checks.
• Persuade senior managers on the benefits of new approaches.
• Decide methods and procedures for project work.
• Lead or contribute to small-to-medium teams with diverse backgrounds.

• Leverage digital tools to find cost-saving opportunities.

You are:

As a Sourcing & Procurement professional. You know how to use data, AI, and deep category expertise to systematically identify, execute, and sustain value. And you’ve got the real life experience and analytical know-how to spot ways to cut out the hassles and cut costs.

The work:

• Spot and solve procurement, problems using your analytical skills to dive into data and check that against the real world
• Persuade senior managers at the client and Accenture about the benefit of new approaches
• Decide what methods and procedures to use when completing projects
• Work alone or lead and manage small-to-medium sized teams with diverse backgrounds, skills and knowledge as needed
• Make sure clients’ procurement operations support their overall objectives—and be ready to diplomatically challenge old fashioned approaches if needed
• Give clients insights that help make their companies work better, faster, and more efficiently
• Use digital tech to help clients find new ways to make things more cheaply, and make their organizations more effective and efficient
• Lead workshops that find ways to make procurement and client processes more efficient
• Be ready to rack up those air miles with client visits Monday to Friday

Here’s what you need:

• At least 2 years’ experience working in - strategic sourcing execution, category planning, contracting, negotiations
• At least 2 years’ experience working in Operating model, process, and policy design related to the function.
• At least 2 years’ experience contributing to Integrated services
• At least 2 years working as a consultant, representing Professional Services
• A Bachelor’s Degree
• English is required for this position as this role will regularly interact with stakeholders across Canada, US and other countries across our Global footprint where English is the common language. Due to the significant high volume of interactions with these English-speaking stakeholders, which is inherent to this position, it is not possible to reorganize the company's activities to avoid this requirement.

Bonus points if:

• You’ve got great data and analytics skills
• You can spot where to find new value in supply chain and procurement, and explain it simply
• You know how to run strategic cost takeout projects
• You know your way around procurement tools like Ariba, Coupa, and iValua
• You’re as good at communicating (in person and in writing) as you are at slicing and dicing data
• You’re Fluent in both French and English.

Compensation at Accenture varies depending on a wide array of factors, which may include but are not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by local law, Accenture provides a reasonable range of compensation, based on full-time employment, for roles that may be hired as set forth below.

It does not represent a maximum limit — in some cases, actual compensation may exceed the range where appropriate.
