Job summary

E4c is seeking a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant to support children’s speech and language development under the supervision of a Speech-Language Pathologist. The role requires collaboration within a multidisciplinary team and travel between office locations, families, and schools.

The ideal candidate will hold a Diploma in Speech and Language Pathology Assistant, have experience with preschoolers, and possess a valid driver’s license with vehicle insurance.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Speech and Language Pathology Assistant.
  • Experience working with preschool-aged children in educational, therapeutic, or community-based settings.
  • Experience working with children and families from diverse backgrounds.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and vehicle, proof of vehicle insurance, registration, and 3-year drivers abstract.
  • Standard First Aid and CPR.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver speech and language interventions under the direction and supervision of a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP).
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members, families, and caregivers to support children's communication and developmental goals.
  • Implement a variety of intervention approaches, including individual, small-group, and classroom-based programming.
  • Promote communication, language, and social development through play-based and inclusive learning experiences.
  • Participate in home visits, parent engagement activities, team meetings, and case conferences as required.
  • Prepare, organize, and maintain therapy materials, documentation, and participant records in accordance with confidentiality standards.
  • Provide administrative support to the SLP and contribute to a positive, collaborative team environment.

Position Summary

The Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) works under the direct supervision of a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) and in accordance with the guidelines established by the Alberta College of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists. Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, the SLPA supports the development of children's speech, language, communication, and social interaction skills through the implementation of individualized and inclusive activities that promote positive developmental outcomes.

Schedule
  • Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week (full-time, office hours)
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends, with adjusted scheduling
  • Local travel required between office locations, family residences, and schools
