Job summary

Bayshore HealthCare is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist in the Kitchener area for a casual per-visit role. Work involves in‑home visits with a mix of in‑person and virtual client sessions, primarily pediatric but inclusive of adults and geriatrics.

A flexible, make‑your‑own schedule is available, with competitive per‑visit pay and benefits as per Bayshore policies. The SLP will assess, treatment, educate, and manage clients with speech, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders,

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Speech‑Language Pathology and registration in good standing.
  • 2–3 years of experience in Speech‑Language Pathology preferred.
  • Experience with in‑home assessments and pediatric populations is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of speech, language, and communication disorders.

Bayshore Home Care Solutions, Kitchener Branch, seeks a Casual Speech Language Pathologist to join our growing team. Casual per visit role Employee or Independent Contractor, permanent position Community work environment with a mix of in‑person and virtual client visits Flexible “make your own” Schedule. Work Monday - Friday, Weekends or combination of both Scheduling Area Options: Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge, Guelph and/or Wellington County Client service population - primarily pediatric, some adult and geriatric Rate of Pay: $85.00-95.00 per visit Competitive per visit rate + non‑clinical hourly rate for work activities, trainings Employee compensation package with sick pay, vacation pay, RRSP, Health Benefits Or - Independent Contractor contract

The Speech Language Pathologist, under the direction of the Clinical Manager, is responsible for completion of professional activities that include assessment, treatment, education, and management of clients requiring speech treatment, cognitive‑communication, and swallowing disorders (adult, geriatric, pediatric). The SLP also make referrals for intervention, service and management of clients as needed, in accordance with professional standards.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct Comprehensive Assessments: Utilize your expertise to diagnose a wide range of speech, language, and communication disorders.
  • Develop Tailored Treatment Plans: Create and implement personalized, evidence‑based therapy plans that cater to each client’s unique‑needs.
  • Collaborate with Multidisciplinary Teams: Work closely with physicians, psychologists, educators, and other allied health professionals, such as occupational therapists, physiotherapists and social workers, to provide holistic and integrated care.
  • Maintain Accurate Records:Ensure meticulous and up‑to‑date client records, adhering to all regulatory standards.
  • Engage in Continuous Learning: Stay ahead in your field by participating in ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
  • Educate and Empower Clients: Provide clients and their families with effective strategies to support communication and swallowing functions, enhancing their quality of life.
Other Responsibilities
  • Maintain active standing in College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario.
  • Participate in ongoing internal and or external education activities
  • Adhere to Bayshore Therapy & Rehab Policies and Procedures
  • Participate in quality activities and continuous improvement initiatives in keeping with the company's Quality Management System
  • Participate in proactive Health & Safety activities while performing all duties.
  • Responsible to notify immediate Supervisor of any Health & Safety risks or concerns.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client and corporate information and discusses same only with appropriate Bayshore personnel
  • Complete other tasks as requested
What you bring:
  • Master’s Degree or recognized equivalent in Speech‑Language Pathology Registered and in good standing with the College of Audiologists or Speech‑Language Pathologists required.
  • 2-3 years experience providing Speech‑Language Pathology services preferred.
  • Experience completing in‑home assessments and treatments is an asset.
  • Experience providing clinical services to pediatric client population.
  • Enjoy working with clients of all ages in multiple treatment environments.
  • Strong communication (oral and written) and exceptional interpersonal and decision‑making skills.
  • Demonstrate basic knowledge of personal computers, and proficiency with secure email.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
