Role Description

The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating speech, language, and communication disorders for children and youth in an educational and therapeutic setting. Day-to-day tasks include conducting formal and informal assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, and delivering one-on-one or small-group therapy sessions. The SLP will collaborate with educators, other clinicians, and families to set goals, monitor progress, and adjust interventions as needed. Responsibilities also include maintaining accurate clinical documentation, preparing reports, and participating in case conferences or team meetings. This is a contract, hybrid role based in Ajax, ON, from November 2026-October 2027.

Qualifications
  • Licensure or registration in good standing as a Speech Language Pathologist with the appropriate provincial regulatory body (e.g., CASLPO), and eligibility to practice in Ontario.
  • Graduate degree in Speech-Language Pathology (or equivalent) from an accredited institution, with supervised clinical practicum experience.
  • Demonstrated skills in speech, language, and communication assessment and intervention for children and youth, including individualized treatment planning and goal setting.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, educators, and families, including clear, professional verbal and written communication.
  • Strong documentation and organizational skills, including maintaining accurate clinical records and managing caseloads and schedules responsibly.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices, ethical standards, and relevant regulations in speech-language pathology and educational/clinical settings.
  • Comfort working on-site with children and youth from diverse backgrounds; experience in school, clinic, or community-based environments is an asset.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development, openness to feedback, and ability to work independently while maintaining professional boundaries.
