Key Responsibilities
  1. Assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate treatment/intervention programmes for service users according to professional standards.
  2. Communicate assessment results and recommendations to service users and relevant others as appropriate.
  3. Document all assessments, diagnoses, treatment/intervention plans, clinical notes, contacts, and summaries in line with departmental and professional standards.
  4. Collaborate with service users, families, carers, and staff in goal setting and planning.
  5. Work closely with colleagues and other professionals to maximize service users' potential.
  6. Provide support and information regarding communication and feeding, eating, drinking, and swallowing disorders to service users and relevant others.
  7. Attend clinics, meetings, case conferences, and rounds.
  8. Participate in team activities, working collaboratively with service users and others as part of an integrated care package.
  9. Represent the department and profession at meetings and conferences as needed.
  10. Engage actively in team performance management.
  11. Maintain confidentiality, ethics, and legislative standards.
  12. Operate within the scope of practice as per CORU requirements and local guidelines.
The ideal candidate will:
  • Be registered as a Speech and Language Therapist with the Speech & Language Therapists Registration Board at CORU.
  • Have sufficient clinical knowledge, reasoning skills, and evidence-based practice to fulfill role responsibilities.
  • Understand the Speech and Language Therapy process, underlying theory, and its application.

Note: The role may involve additional duties and contributions to departmental development, subject to review.
