Job summary

Metro Testing & Engineering Ltd. in Burnaby, BC, seeks a Specialty Construction Materials Testing Technician to join a hands-on role testing construction materials with accuracy and safety in mind.

You will work independently or with a team, solve problems, and document results while following industry standards. Training is provided, with benefits after 3 months and a starting wage of $22/hour.

What you need to have:

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Basic to intermediate math skills

The following experience is considered an asset:

• Knowledge of hydraulic systems
• Previous experience with concrete technology
• Experience with anchors and anchor systems

This is a physically active position that requires the ability to:

• Lift and carry equipment and materials weighing at least 50 lbs
• Stand, walk, bend, kneel, and crouch for extended periods
• Work indoors and outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
• Perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the workday
• Safely handle testing equipment and construction materials
• Travel to local and remote project sites as required
• Participate in occasional overnight projects and travel away from home
• Maintain a valid driver\'s license with a clean driving record
