With a staff of 14,000, TCDSB is a dynamic school board seeking a temporary Specialist, Staffing for a two-year contract within the Human Resources department.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Reporting to the Manager, Staffing, Human Resources, this position supervises the daily operations of the Board's academic and professional student services portfolios. Responsibilities include supporting management initiatives, departmental goals, system-wide priorities, and new initiatives related to HR functions.

• Supervise and implement changes to collective agreements related to HR functions within the Academic Services portfolio.
• Administer and supervise procedural and audit processes related to seniority, employee files, salary grids, skills, and qualifications.
• Supervise HR support staff, including performance management and professional development.
• Apply collective agreement language within the assigned portfolio.
• Assist management with statistical data preparation.
• Recommend departmental procedural changes to improve effectiveness.
• Support ongoing projects and initiatives as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Three-year community college diploma in Human Resources or related field, or equivalent education and experience.
• At least two years of experience in staffing and employee lifecycle processes within HR, preferably in a large unionized public sector educational environment.
• Knowledge of HR best practices and labour relations legislation.
• Experience with collective agreements and HRIS systems like SAP.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications.
• Ability to work effectively across organizational levels.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Supervisory experience is an asset.
