With a staff of 14,000, TCDSB is seeking a temporary Specialist, Staffing for a two-year contract within the Human Resources department.

Key Accountabilities

Reporting to the Manager, Staffing, Human Resources, this position supervises the daily operation of the Board's academic and professional student services portfolios. Responsibilities include:

1. Supervising and implementing changes to collective agreements related to Human Resources within the Academic Services portfolio.
2. Managing day-to-day administration of procedures and audits concerning seniority, employee files, salary grids, skills, and qualifications.
3. Supervising HR support staff, including performance management and professional development.
4. Applying collective agreement language within the assigned portfolio.
5. Supporting management with statistical reports and departmental initiatives.
6. Recommending procedural improvements to enhance departmental effectiveness.
7. Supporting ongoing projects and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Three-year community college diploma in Human Resources or related field, or equivalent education and experience.
• At least two years of experience in staffing and employee lifecycle processes, preferably in a large unionized public sector educational environment.
• Knowledge of HR best practices and labour legislation.
• Experience with collective agreements and HRIS systems like SAP.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Previous supervisory experience is an asset.

This is a two-year contract position with benefits, including pension plan options and vacation entitlement.
