Job summary

SaskPower is seeking a Procurement Operations Specialist to lead complex procurement activities supporting operational, capital, and strategic objectives. You will partner with internal stakeholders to develop sourcing strategies, run competitive processes, negotiate terms, and ensure policy and regulatory compliance.

• Five years of related procurement and strategic sourcing experience.
• Degree in Business Administration, Commerce or related field.
• SCMP designation considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Lead and administer complex procurement processes from planning through contract award and implementation.
• Develop procurement and sourcing strategies.
• Prepare and evaluate solicitation documents.
• Facilitate cross-functional evaluation teams.
• Negotiate contracts and commercial terms.
• Provide expert advice to stakeholders on procurement policies, risk management, and trade agreement compliance.
• Build and maintain effective supplier relationships.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives; and
• Contribute to the development of procurement tools, processes, and training that enhance operational efficiency and service delivery across the organization.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Lead and administer complex procurement processes from planning through contract award and implementation;

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

• Degree in Business Administration, Commerce or other related equivalent AND/OR;
• Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation would be considered an asset AND/OR;
• Five (5) years of related procurement and strategic sourcing experience
• Team player with the ability to build and maintain strategic relationships both internal and external to SaskPower
• Results oriented thinker, with the ability to manage and provide advice regarding complex and confidential issues with sensitivity and professionalism
• Excellent analytical, research and problem solving skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
