Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a senior professional in Canada to lead tooling technologies and oversee long-range technical plans for tooling programs. You will act as the principal technical interface with clients and project teams, defining direction and ensuring economical execution of objectives.

You will bring 15+ years of nuclear experience, be a recognized SME in tooling design, and mentor engineers while supporting business growth in a hybrid work culture.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of nuclear experience in refurbishment or maintenance.
• Experience managing tooling work with interfacing teams (Mechanical, Electrical, Human Factors, etc.), Procurement, QA, Contracts, Construction.
• Recognized as a Subject Matter Expert in Tooling Design, Testing and Deployment.
• Strong independent action or decision-making ability and deep Tooling System knowledge.
• Ability to manage complex projects.
• Strong leadership and coaching skills for staff development.
• Excellent client focus and conflict resolution skills.
• Willingness to travel to project sites.

• Provide input on the recruitment and training of competent specialized staff and input into the selection and appraisal of staff, as required.

Your role

About you

• Engineering Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics from an accredited university or equivalent degree as recognized by Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).
• Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in the Province of Ontario and member in good standing.
• Minimum 15 years of progressive nuclear experience in a discipline and field of application relevant to large-scale refurbishments or maintenance services.
• Experience managing tooling work with interfacing requirements involving other engineering teams (Mechanical, Electrical, Human Factors, etc.), Procurement, Quality Assurance, Contracts, and Construction.
• Recognized within Candu and the nuclear industry as a Subject Matter Expert in Tooling Design, Testing and Deployment.
• A marked capacity for sound independent action or decision-making, and a very specialized understanding of Tooling System technology.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects.
• Strong leadership and coaching skills in the development of team members and support staff.
• Excellent client focus and conflict resolution skills.
• Willingness to travel to project sites as required.

Other Requirements:

• Experience in executing projects that are subject to import/export controls.
• Security clearance is a condition of employment.
