Job summary

Canadian Pacific Railway (CPKC) seeks a Senior Community Investment Specialist to lead budgeting, governance, and ESG reporting for Sponsorship & Community Investment programs across North America.

You will coordinate donations, manage Benevity workflows, and collaborate with Marketing, HR, Government Affairs and First Nation teams to maximize ROI and community impact.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree or five years of experience in Community Investment, CSR or related field.
• Strong financial knowledge including budgeting, forecasting, accruals and amortization.
• Familiarity with SAP and Benevity or similar platforms.

Responsibilities

• Budgeting, forecasting, accruals, and amortization for Sponsorship & Community Investment; manage annual $30m budgets.
• Assist Marketing, HR/Diversity, Government Affairs, and First Nation teams in managing donations and sponsorships; advise on strategy and contracts.
• Coordinate with external orgs on application/ROI; respond to public inquiries regarding Sponsorships and Community Investments.
• Administer Benevity Grants software and generate reports for planning, ESG and communications.
• Collaborate with Communications on internal/external investment storytelling.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Budgeting, forecasting, accruals, and amortization, for their area of Community Investment responsibilities. Collaborate with internal teams to prepare and monitor annual $30m budgets for Sponsorship & Community Investment, ensuring alignment with company goals. Process cash and in-kind donations using Benevity software and internal payment systems, ensuring compliance with budget caps and contract requirements
• Assist internal stakeholders, including Marketing & Sales, HR/Diversity, Government Affairs, and First Nation, in managing donations and sponsorships, offering industry best practices, strategic direction, and contract negotiation. Support development of community investment strategies if necessary.
• Coordinate with external organizations on donation/sponsorship applications and manage deliverables to maximize engagement and ROI. Address public inquiries regarding Sponsorships and Community Investments promptly and effectively
• Administer the Benevity Grants software, understanding backend processes, security requirements, and accounting procedures. Create reports, presentations, and documents for strategic planning, ESG reporting, social impact metrics, and communications
• Collaborate with the Communications Team on internal and external communication plans to highlight investments and tell impactful stories
• Administer suites and season tickets for multiple properties including purchasing and distributing digital tickets and physical parking passes, tracking usage and managing suite food and beverage requirements for each event. Coordinate reporting for ticket usage and process related invoices.
• Manage Holiday Train tasks, including preparing documents, communicating information to internal stakeholders, setting up vendors in SAP, processing invoices, entering grant information into Benevity, processing donations, and reconciling payments

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Post-secondary certification/degree/diploma in Community Investment, public relations, CSR, or a related field or five years of relevant experience
• Strong financial knowledge including budgeting, forecasting, accruals, and amortization
• Familiarity with SAP and Benevity or similar financial, grants management, and community investment platforms
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills, able to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines. Proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders; excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency level in MS Office including Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Availability for some evening/weekend work for Sponsorship and Community Investment events

Management Conductor Program

Becoming a qualified conductor or locomotive engineer is the single best way for a management employee to learn the business at CPKC. You may be required to obtain a certification or to maintain your current certification/qualification as a conductor or locomotive engineer.
