Job summary

Abbotsford School District is seeking an Educational Assistant to support students with special needs under the supervision of teachers and the Principal. You will help implement IEP objectives, reinforce learning, and promote independence in a respectful, confidential setting.

You will work in an integrated classroom, assist with health and hygiene tasks, and collaborate with therapists and staff to support student progress.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 diploma, or equivalent, plus Education Assistant program (1–2 yrs).
• CPI (Crisis Prevention & Intervention) certification is required.
• Experience with special needs students is preferred.
• Valid BC Class 5 driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe learning environment and support IEP objectives.
• Provide academic support one-on-one or in small groups.
• Assist with social integration and behavior support measures.
• Record progress updates for teachers and participate in IEP meetings.
• Assist with health-related tasks and basic first aid when needed.
• Support with administration and routine classroom tasks.
