Job summary

SANZA Teaching Agency in East Barnet, North London, is recruiting a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant (SEND TA) for the new academic year.

Role is full-time, Monday to Friday, supporting a pupil with complex needs including ASC who is non-verbal, starting September/October. Experience with PECS and Makaton is desirable.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting children with special educational needs within a primary school setting.
  • Knowledge or practical use of PECS and Makaton.
  • Patience, caring and adaptable with a calm and positive approach.
  • Strong communication and record-keeping skills, with collaboration with staff and external professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one support for a pupil with complex needs, including ASC, who is non-verbal.
  • Follow school plans and contribute to inclusive practice.
  • Maintain accurate records and liaise with staff and external professionals.
  • Support learning activities and classroom routines throughout the day.

Special Needs Teaching Assistant (SEND) - Barnet, North LondonFull-Time | September/October Start

Are you an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role in a welcoming primary school? Do you have experience supporting children with Autism (ASC) and additional complex needs?

SANZA Teaching Agency is working in partnership with a highly regarded primary school in East Barnet, North London, to recruit a dedicated Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEND TA) for the new academic year.

The Role

Full-time SEND TA, Monday to Friday, for the full academic year.

Working one-to-one with a pupil joining the school from late September/early October.

Supporting a child with complex special educational needs, including Autism (ASC), who is non-verbal.

The school is particularly interested in candidates with experience using PECS and Makaton.

Working hours: 8:15am - 3:45pm.

Daily rate: £95-£100, depending on experience.

The Ideal Candidate
  • Have previous experience supporting children with special educational needs within a primary school setting.
  • Ideally have knowledge or practical experience of PECS and Makaton.
  • Be patient, caring and adaptable, with a calm and positive approach.
  • Have strong communication skills and be confident maintaining accurate records while working collaboratively with school staff and external professionals.
