Job summary

The Portage la Prairie School Division is seeking a dedicated resource teacher to join our team commencing January 4, 2027. We offer robust professional development, a teacher mentorship program, and a comprehensive student services program for all our schools.

Applicants must hold Manitoba Teaching Certificate and Manitoba Special Education Certificate (or in progress), with the ability to develop IEPs, differentiate instruction, and collaborate with staff, students, and families.

Qualifications

Must hold Manitoba Teaching Certificate in good standing.
Manitoba Special Education Certificate (or in progress).
Knowledge of special education practices and differentiated instruction.
Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans for students with diverse learning needs.
Ability to collaborate with teachers to modify and adapt curriculum to meet student needs.
Experience working with students with diverse learning needs and a wide range of abilities.
Ability to support students in developing social, emotional and academic skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with students, parents and colleagues.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with classroom teachers to modify and adapt curriculum to student needs.
Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students.
Support social, emotional and academic development of students.
Provide ongoing communication with families and school staff.
