Job summary

Frontier School Division seeks a Resource (50%) and Early Years (50%) Teacher for Duck Bay School, starting January 4, 2027. This permanent, 1.00 FTE role supports a small school with inclusive, differentiated instruction for Nursery to Grade 9 students.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor of Education (Master's preferred) with Manitoba Teaching Certificate, and has experience as a Resource Teacher and in assessing diverse learners.

ABOUT THE COMMUNITY

Duck Bay School is located in the community of Duck Bay nestled on the western shore of Lake Winnipegosis, a one-hour drive north of Dauphin. The school and community are proud of their Metis culture and heritage. The school has a student body of approximately 80 Nursery to Grade 9 students (plus Adult Education).

WHAT YOU BRING
  • Bachelor of Education Degree and preferably a Master's Degree in Education or related field and valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate (or eligibility for)
  • Manitoba Inclusive Education Teaching certificate or certification in progress
  • A sound knowledge of provincial curricula
  • Previous teaching experience and previous experience as a Resource Teacher
  • Excellent understanding of current Manitoba curricula and differentiated instruction
  • Knowledge and training in formal and informal assessment
  • Familiar with appropriate educational programming
  • Knowledge of Indigenous Way of Life (considered an asset)
  • Experience working in a northern community (considered an asset)
