Job summary

Home Instead - Downtown Toronto Office is seeking Spanish-speaking caregivers/PSWs in Downtown Toronto. PSW students or RN/RPN students/graduates who are fluent in Spanish are welcome to apply.

Duties include personal care, companionship, light housekeeping, meal prep, and more to help clients maintain independence. Minimum qualifications include PSW diploma or enrollment proof, and at least 1 year of caregiving experience.

Qualifications

• PSW diploma or proof of enrollment in PSW/RPN/RN program required.
• At least 1 year of professional caregiving experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with activities of daily living to support independence.
• Provide companionship and social engagement.
• Assist with groceries, meal planning and preparation.
• Light housekeeping and laundry tasks as needed.
• Medication reminders and basic supervision.

Home Instead - Downtown Toronto Office is looking to hire Spanish speaking Caregivers/PSWs.

PSW students who have completed placement and RN/RPN graduates or students who are willing to work as Caregiver/Personal Support Workers and who speak Spanish are encouraged to apply as well.

Location: Downtown Toronto

Rate of Pay: $20 per hour plus 4% vacation pay

The role of the PSW is to assist clients with activities of daily living with the goal of supporting client independence and optimal functioning. Your duties may include but not limited to:

• Personal Care Assistance
• Companionship
• Grocery Shopping
• Light Housekeeping & Laundry
• Meal Planning & Preparation
• Medication Reminders
• Escorting clients to appointments
• Ambulatory Assistance

Minimum Qualifications

• PSW Diploma or if you are a PSW/RPN/RN student then proof of enrollment in the PSW/RPN/RN program
• Caregivers with at least 1 year of professional caregiving experience
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Good judgement, problem-solving and assessment abilities
• Ability to work collaboratively with the care team
