Job summary

MDA Space is seeking a Supervisor, Software Development to lead a section of the Software Department, recruit and develop talent, and drive engineering excellence. The role reports to the Engineering Manager and contributes to technological roadmaps, process improvements and customer satisfaction.

The incumbent will manage staffing, succession planning, and ensure state‑of‑the‑art techniques while supporting capital planning and adherence to company policies.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years experience in software engineering.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Excellent communication in French and English (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

• Lead recruitment, development, engagement and retention within the software department.
• Support technology roadmap development and modernization of engineering practices.
• Oversee resource planning, budgets and capital investments for the department.
• Coordinate with MRBs, audits and customer inquiries as needed.
• Assist in front-end proposals and new product initiatives.
